Utilized three remote cameras to monitor an endangered population of Steller Sea Lions on Chiswell Island. Conducted census counts & individually identified over 200 sea lions daily. Monitored pupping & breeding. Recorded pup mortality, animal behaviors, male territories, fighting, & maternal investment strategies. Worked in the field repairing camera equipment on Chiswell Island & conducting sea lion haulout surveys on nearby islands via boat. While in the field, witnessed additional wildlife including humpback whales, orcas, seals, otters, bears, and sea birds.Presented to over 1000 guests daily. Spoke during animal training sessions with seals, sea lions, and birds where the animals were asked to perform behaviors for husbandry, veterinary medicine, research, and physical exercise. Led behind the scene tours regarding veterinary medicine and wildlife rehabilitation where I demonstrated proper seal restraint and tube feeding using a stuffed animal model & spoke about animal sedation, an eel ultrasound, and a sea lion physical exam. Created education materials and led summer camp for kids 8+ years old.

Helped organize the 2024 APVMA symposium for approximately 600 students & advisors. In charge of the Communications Committee, creating 2-4 weekly instagram posts (coordinating with NC State CVM Social Media), over 20 signs/banners, and a program booklet. Worked with Fedex for printing services. Communicated with students ahead of the symposium through social media. Coordinated a social gathering and organized a DJ at the Hilton Hotel. At the symposium, coordinated volunteers, assisted with set up, and helped students navigate the NC State CVM to attend different labs & lectures.

Responsible for husbandry of hospitalized patients including diet preparation, wound care, and K-Laser treatments. Collected fecal and urine samples. Restrained animals during examinations, vaccinations, and other treatments. Assisted with ultrasounds and learned how to identify various organs/body parts on ultrasound. Observed surgical procedures including spays, neuters, ACL repair, dental, C-section, ophthalmology, foreign body, and tumor resection.

Teaching Assistant for Animal Anatomy and Physiology Lecture. Attended weekly class where I was available to answer student questions and assist Dr. Shweta Trivedi. Held weekly office hours where I explained complex topics and physiological processes of the muscular, nervous, sensory, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, and digestive systems. Graded exams and assignments, kept track of attendance, responded to student emails, and organized class documents.

Prepared sandwiches, provided exceptional customer service, maintained cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, led closing shifts, and trained new employees. Developed skills including communication, customer service, leadership, patience, and team work.
