I worked for A-OK Corral taking guest rides into Bridger Teton National Forest. I loaded my guests, of varying skill level, onto their horses and started with an introduction of myself and the horses. I then organized them into a single file line and took them safely on the trail. The trips I took guests on were anywhere from 1-8 hours. I also took fishing trips out with the horses. Working with large animals and guests from varying backgrounds I gained many skills. I learned how to better communicate with different types of people, and how to use other forms of communication if language was not an option. I also had to put my first aid skills to use. Out in the National Forest I was the only professional if something went wrong, this fact encouraged me to stay prepared for any situation.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

I worked at a guest ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In the evenings guests would come ride a covered wagon up a trail to a pavilion where they would enjoy dinner and a show. I developed strong customer service skills because of the daily interaction with hundreds of guests. My responsibilities varied each night. I drove the wagons, prepared and served the food, and helped guests with special needs.

I was working with a middle school aged child dealing with special needs. We spent a large amount of time on her school work. Other times we would do crafts or activities. We often took my dog on walks and spent large amounts of time outside. I was hired to provide positive social interaction. Because of her energy level this was a fast paced job that was different every day.

Work for a private owner that rents vacation homes. Maintain the grounds and keep roads and driveways cleared during the winter.
