Profile bio

About Morgan Moser

I am a passionate, goal-oriented undergraduate student attending Wake Forest University. I am currently pursuing a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in the Social Determinants of Health and Well-being as well as minors in Interdisciplinary Writing and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Outside of academics, I am highly involved in extracurricular activities on campus. I serve as the President of my acapella group, Minor Variation, where I lead the group rehearsals and performances. I am also responsible for logistics and communication with community organizations, including local churches. I also serve as the President of a service club on campus: Wake Saturdays. This organization takes a faith-centered justice approach to serving at-risk and vulnerable populations in Forsyth County. Every weekend, we provide a community partner with a group of volunteers eager and willing to serve. Working closely with the Wake Forest Office of Civic and Community Engagement, we have expanded opportunities for education around impactful and ethical service work.Additionally, I work as a peer tutor on campus. As a Writing Center Tutor, I help students at all levels of writing proficiency to develop their writing skills and achieve their academic goals. Working with the WFU Center for Learning, Access, and Student Success, I tutor students in sociology. The courses in which I provide remedial support range from introductory courses to social statistics, research methods, social theory, and special topics courses. Through these roles, I have honed my communication and interpersonal skills, as well as my ability to provide constructive feedback and support to students from diverse academic backgrounds. Finally, I am proud to have started the first Eating Disorder Prevention Program on my campus called "The Body Project." This program aims to promote positive body rhetoric and reduce the prevalence of eating disorders among Wake Forest students. Through this initiative, I have demonstrated my leadership and organizational skills, as well as my commitment to creating positive change within my community.
