About Morgan Phillips
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, I am passionate about improving academic programs, promoting student success, and fostering collaboration among faculty, staff, and partners. My mission is to lead the efforts to enhance the quality, relevance, and impact of the educational offerings at Pima Community College, where I serve as the Vice Chancellor of Academic Excellence. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have worked in various roles and institutions, from professor of mathematics to campus president, and have earned multiple degrees, including a doctorate in higher education administration. As the Vice Chancellor of Academic Excellence, I supervise several off-campus programs for the college, including online education, our Santa Cruz Center, and dual enrollment, which are the fastest-growing areas of the college. I also lead the institutional work with partner universities to articulate college credits and maximize student opportunities for higher-level degrees. Additionally, I help other areas in the college increase their use of reports and metrics to improve their performance and outcomes. Some of the skills that I use and develop in this role are curriculum assessment, developmental education, adult education, and leadership. I enjoy working with a diverse and talented team of colleagues who share my vision and values for academic excellence and student success.
