As a teaching assistant, I assisted professors in the STEM Education minor who were teaching the introductory course in a variety of ways. Daily tasks included responding to student emails, gathering materials for class, providing thorough feedback on lesson plans crafted by 30-60 student teachers and supporting student teaching groups throughout their classroom and field experiences. Daily tasks included responding to student emails, gathering materials for class, providing thorough feedback on lesson plans crafted by 30-60 student teachers and supporting student teaching groups throughout their classroom and field experiences. Frequent tasks included independently teaching students when the introductory professors were unable to attend class, meeting with student teachers during office hours that I held twice a week, and conflict mediation between teaching partners. In the fall, I will be the teaching assistant for the penultimate course in the STEM Education minor - project-based learning, where 30 students will complete an extended, independent field experience using alternative lesson planning tactics. In this role, I worked with a 10-member team that was dedicated to contracting local organizations for the conference to table and present to attendees the missions of their organization. As a member of the Experience team, I contracted Margaritaville University to table on the topics of mental health and self-care, relating to the conference's First Fold theme through the discussion of the first steps to take for mental health maintenance throughout the year. As a member of the Experience team, I contracted Margaritaville University to table on the topics of mental health and self-care, relating to the conference's First Fold theme through the discussion of the first steps to take for mental health maintenance throughout the year. In this role I crafted many professional communications, managed multiple meetings with my exhibit partner, responded to questions and concerns from both my partner and attendees, and continuously promoted the TEDxFoggyBottom brand through representing them in multiple tabling experiences. Collaborated on a 8-person team to work on team-building, team relations, ticket sales tracking, and fundraising. Served as support for a 45-person team regarding ticket sales. Sold merchandise at both the main conference and a gala. Ran check in at the main event and attended to the needs of speakers throughout the conference. Planned two full team bonding activities and a fundraiser.

Throughout the school year I function as a counselor in before and after school childcare services for children in PreK - 5th grade. When working with 70-90 children a day, I exercise problem solving skills with the children and a team of approximately 4-8 other counselors per shift, initiate one-on-one discussions with children about growth, behaviors, relationship building, problem solving, and becoming the best versions of ourselves. The last internship experience consisted of a 3 week period of independently teaching students from the beginning of November until Thanksgiving break. Responsibilities included developing detailed lesson plans that addressed NGSS/Common Core Standards as well as pertinent scientific and mathematical practices that aided in students' critical skill development, grading student work with a focus on trend examination for both holistic and fragmented comprehension development, considerations for universal design to address the diverse needs of all learners, adjustment of lesson designs to address the needs and pacing of students, continuous feedback and communication with mentor teachers and supervisors about student needs and development goals, and the development of effective classroom management strategies to create and maintain a safe environment for students to learn and explore in.
