Morgan MacDonald writes lyrically driven songs about the messy parts of life. He has triumphant songs about death, hesitant songs about love, and fearless, wide eyed songs observing the world around us. Morgan celebrates the things worth celebrating and pulls few punches on the things that are not. His songs have a diversity of influences and arrangements with his honest voice always resonating through. In the spring of 2012 Morgan released Back to the Wilderness, an EP produced by Paul Aucoin (past production includes: John K Samson, Hayden, The Sadies). Back to the Wilderness was well received by audiences and music critics across Canada and was nominated for Folk Recording of the Year by Music Nova Scotia.Collaborations with Jason Collett of Broken Social Scene have resulted in a number of songs that will be included in Morgan's second recording set to be released in the coming year. Morgan is working with producer Don Kerr of The Rheostatics and Ron Sexsmith for the upcoming album. Morgan completed his second tour across Canada releasing “ I Surrender”, a single off his new album."Back to the Wilderness is a luminous sample of MacDonald’s dexterity, both as a songwriter and as a musician."- Penguin Eggs Magazine "...he has a great, 4-song debut EP on his hands ...an enjoyable listen, revealing MacDonald to be an engaging, down to earth songwriter who also knows his way around a catchy melody."- Hero Hill (Polaris Prize and Juno Award jurors)" Instrumentally, MacDonald’s work is absolutely exquisite. A couple of extra listens reveal the depths of his lyrics, and with this debut EP, MacDonald gives every indication that great things are yet to come from him."- Grayowl Point "...heartbreakingly beautiful ... incredible talent as a lyricist.'- The Chronicle Herald www.morganmacdonald.caNominated for Folk Recording of the Year by Music Nova Scotia4 Regional Features on CBC Radio6 - Top 10 Listings on Earshot Radio Charts

Delivery of provincial education curriculum through creative and engaging approaches in addition to individualized program planning for students of various abilities. Responsible for communicating with parents, administration, social services, and community partners as needed.Subjects: Math 10, Math 11 I stepped into this role on very short notice. I was the third teacher in this role in four months and many students were understandably in need of support. With wonderful support of my coworkers, patience from the school administration, and a lot of lunchtime extra help sessions, this cohort of students calibrated and finished their year well.
  • Government Of Yukon
Learning Centre Staff - Yukon Education
Government Of Yukon Aug 2016 - Jul 2017
    Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada
I had many roles working in the Learning Centre of the largest high school in the Yukon Territory. Students from grades 8-12 would be referred to the Learning Centre by the school councilor, administration, or classroom teachers for short term or year long academic and behavior support. I supported students one-on-one or in small groups in all subjects covered in high school curriculum. There were a number of teachers supporting the Learning Centre and I usually covered math and sciences. This role was very challenging, fast paced, and dynamic. Often within one hour I could be found helping a group of students with pre-calculus, supporting a student to rectify an adverse behaviour incident, supervising a student taking missed test, and administering online course content. I valued the opportunity to help students overcome their academic and/or behavioural obstacles often to transformative effect.
