I'm a current Senior at the University of New England majoring in Sports Management with a minor in coaching. I am also a part of the NCAA Division 3 Women's Lacrosse team here as well as a part of the Club Hockey team. I'm interested in this field as I have spent a large majority of my life in and around sports. I have devoted many hours since my Senior year of high school to coaching and passing on my knowledge and love of sports to the athletes I coach. I have expanded my knowledge through getting involved in many different areas. I spend a lot of my time coaching, volunteering, as well as working for the Portland Sea Dogs. On campus I am very involved in different clubs that have allowed me to grow my network. I am currently the President of the Female Athlete Alliance (FAA), which works to create equality in sports and grow women's sports and support our women's teams on campus. I was also the Treasurer of FAA my sophomore year which gave me a lot of experience working with budgeting and money management. I am now on my second year of being the Secretary of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), which bridges the gap between the athletics department and the student athletes themselves. SAAC has representatives from each NCAA team on campus which allows the voices of student athletes to be heard and our ideas put into action. A new role that I have taken on this year is being a Morgan's Message Campus Ambassador. Morgan's Message is a mental health organization which campus ambassadors at high schools and colleges all around America. As a campus ambassador my role is to host events and provide mental health resources for students on campus. I have also joined Student Philanthropy Association as a member which allows me to continue volunteering and giving back to my community. I have also joined Best Buddies which is a club that pairs students here at UNE with a student with a disability to do activities and get to know each other. All of these connections have given me the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. I look forward to taking my next steps in working in the Sports Management field.
