Deputy Ciso - Cyber Operations, Vulnerability Mgmnt, & Incident Response
CurrentAs the Deputy CISO at Texas Department of Public Safety, I lead the implementation and oversight of cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices for the agency. I also managed the risk assessment, mitigation, and compliance activities for the information systems and networks under my purview. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in cyber and special operations, I have a proven track record of delivering effective and innovative solutions to complex and dynamic security challenges.In addition to my role at Texas DPS, I also serve as a Lead Cybersecurity Instructor at various colleges and universities, where I teach Cybersecurity Bootcamp courses to prepare learners for various roles in the field, such as computer forensics, threat analysis, network defense, system administration, and encryption. I leverage my extensive knowledge and credentials in cybersecurity, information assurance, networks, operating systems, and endpoints, as well as my practical experience in cyber program management, sensitive compartmented information operation network training, and felony level criminal investigations, to provide engaging, relevant, and rigorous instruction to the next generation of cyber professionals.
