As founder and publisher I managed a yearly rotating team of 5-10 writers, photographers and graphic designers, oversaw the creation and organization of all the content, negotiated and printed the book, in addition to handling the distribution, marketing and promotion. In the first year I secured distribution in over 15 Barnes and Noble Bookstores, 20+ Boston Bookstores.Building MAP was a great lesson in how hard you need to work to grow product awareness. In addition to creative placement in bookstores, I worked the SOWA market every Sunday so I could personally interact with customers and learn key sales tactics. In order to help drive sales, I built and lead Baked Fresh, a music and arts festival at the SOWA Open Market to draw a younger crowd to the South End Neighborhood. Show less

I worked as part of a tight knit team of four, vs the much larger magazine and spent most of my time updating the references of previously published quizzes in old issues of the magazine into online quizzes users could take digitally. My big day came when the team arranged for me to interview and publish an article with Jimmy Eat World, my favorite band at the time!
