During my tenure I was assigned on-site to a Fortune 500 aerospace client to support the risk assessment and threat modeling team, with a focus on applications hosted on Azure. My work included advising development teams (including subsidiaries and contractors) on the Fit For Use process which is required for all applications to gain approval for production use, creating data flow diagrams or Visio maps to build threat models, and conducting peer review meetings to ideate on threat models. The team investigated vulnerabilities related to IAM tools, patching policy, logging solutions, encryption algorithms, etc. We also defined detailed security requirements for app deployment and network infrastructure components, held focus groups to define security requirements, built threat models for apps within other environments (AWS, on-prem), enforced policy, and trained client staff.
