In my previous role of 7 and a half years as the Operations Supervisor at Van-Kam Freightways Ltd., I successfully managed day-to-day operations of a high-volume freight terminal. My responsibilities included overseeing a large team of unionized employees, dispatch/routing and building strong client relationships. I bring a track record of success in strategic planning, team management and ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations. For thirteen years, I worked as an operations supervisor at Coast 2000, the leading, and largest, third party logistics export service provider to the pulp and paper, lumber and international marine container industry. As my role as the container yard supervisor, I was responsible for the daily staffing levels, shipping and distribution operations within a 30 acre container yard. This includes overseeing 30 union employees. An important part of my job includes executing and ensuring health and safety standards are conducted to ensure work site safety, which I’m extremely passionate about.My most notable achievement to date was playing an instrumental role in the development of the lumber yard, which helped drive business and increase productivity. I’m dedicated to my work and always eager to connect build relationships with other professionals in the industry. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, my favorite part is working with people, resolving conflict and improving staff morale. I've learned that getting the most out of people happens when you take the time to build meaningful relationships, listen and work together as a team.
