About Morgan Baum

As a small business entrepreneur, Morgan Baum is focused on building an engaged community, creating quality products, and supporting her team to reach their personal goals. Morgan's main responsibility is supporting hundreds of newsrooms across the country as they build capacity, expand revenue opportunities, and create meaningful relationships with institutions, individuals, and corporate supporters. Morgan continues to serve as the CEO and Owner at the Clay Coyote Gallery & Pottery, where she provides leadership, strategic planning, and team development.Prior to her role as CEO of the Clay Coyote, Morgan served for 15 years in the nonprofit advocacy and journalism industry, with a focus on consumer product safety, media, and technology. Morgan began her career with the Center for Public Integrity in Washington, DC as a writer and researcher focused on the media and telecommunications industry, during that time winning numerous awards and accolades for groundbreaking research on media consolidation and hidden fees. After that she went on to work for Consumer Reports in various roles including: Associate Director of Development, Manager of External Relations, Senior Organizer in Public Policy, and the Director of the HearUsNow campaign in Federal Policy. As a media contributor, Morgan regularly appears on the local CBS. She also has appeared on PBS, WGN, CNN, NBC, ABC, and numerous radio and podcasts.  Morgan is an active volunteer and currently serves as Chair of MN Citizens for the Arts, as well as other local nonprofits. She holds a BS in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin (River Falls) and a MS in Fundraising Management from Columbia University in New York City. Above all, family is most important to Morgan. She and Ian, her husband, enjoy spending time with their daughter and family dog, most often on Cape Cod or Lake Geneva.
