Director Of Development & MembershipUniversity Of Alaska Fairbanks May 2015 - Jul 2018Fairbanks, Ak, UsI successfully revitalized the development and membership functions at the UA Museum of the North, which resulted in growing a sustainable flow of contributed revenue to offset State funding cuts. Specific responsibilities included securing major gifts at and above six-figures from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support the UA Museum of the North. I worked in tandem with the Executive Director of the museum on project specific fundraising campaigns, collaborated with other University of Alaska Development Officers on joint fundraising projects, worked with the Marketing and Communications Manager on positioning sponsors and donors, develop and oversee the fundraising activities for events, and worked with the museum exhibit and collections on fundraising projects. Responsibilities also included oversight of the museum's membership program, annual fund campaign, and proposal writing and coordination for the Museum's Education & Public Programs department. I also served as liaison to the campus' Central Development team, and state-level Development Leaders at the UA Foundation. One notable achievement includes a project to increase the base of museum supporters by launching new Membership, Annual Fund, and Curiosity Club programs. In 2016, I led a group of directors and managers to collaboratively design a membership and annual fund programs. Over 6 months we went through conceptualization, budgeting, forecasting, staffing, program logistics, marketing and communications, and program implementation. During this time I also secured a new corporate major donor as a sponsor for the Curiosity Club, an activity-packed club for kids. The programs have met and exceeded all goals, and in the first year brought in $300,000 of new unrestricted revenue to the museum. -
