CurrentWorking on three initiatives 🌊 🚢 :- The Poseidon Principles: Launched in 2019, the Poseidon Principles are the world's first sector specific, self-governing climate alignment agreement amongst financial institutions and have established a model for how the financial sector can kick-start sectoral decarbonization. Signatories use the Principles to engage with their clients and to align the cost of capital with GHG performance.- The Sea Cargo Charter: Established in 2020, it provides a framework for the transparent reporting of shipping emissions from major energy, agriculture, mining, and commodity trading companies. Large industrial corporations are significant users of international shipping services. The shipping of crude oil, coal, iron ore, grain and other bulk commodities used worldwide make up over 80% of global seaborne trade. Signatories to the Sea Cargo Charter use the framework to integrate climate considerations into their decision-making and favour climate-aligned maritime transport.- The Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance: They were established at the end of 2021. Signatories are a group of leaders in marine insurance who have committed to aligning their insurance and reinsurance underwriting portfolios with international climate goals.
