I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Notre Dame based in Rome, Italy. As a researcher, I focus on the cultural history of food and the relationship between material practices and intellectual culture. My dissertation is a longue durée comparative study of the widespread phenomenon of serving roasted peacocks in their skin as though they were alive.As a university instructor, I teach:-the history of food-the history of science, medicine, and technology-the history of magic-the history of gender and sexuality-the history of raceI have served on the Notre Dame Graduate Student Government's Stipend Advocacy Committee as well as numerous mental health and health insurance advisory boards focused on serving the needs of the graduate, law, and business student population at Notre Dame.
