Spring Semester: Teaching Information Security and Assurance to undergraduate students in the BSIT program as well as students in the IT minor. I have enjoyed actively engaging students who have, for the most part, had no exposure to Information Security. Some may have advanced courses later in their degree program, but for others this is their only security course.

• Manage and coordinate all computer incident response and digital forensic activities at the university• Create the incident and CIRT (Computer Incident Response Team) policies, charter, and procedures. • Create and manage UC’s CIRT including training and preparation for incident handling.• Manage the digital forensic investigator. Assign tasks and priorities. Review and approve investigation plans. • Coordinate communications between UCPD, General Counsel, UCIT, and other departments at UC regarding investigations and other information security issues.• Review and approve all forensic and incident response equipment and software.• Responsible for creating a new vulnerability management program for the entire university. Work with IT Coordinators and staff to arrange training and implementation of the new process. Will continue to manage and build the program as we strive to lower the risk exposure of the university.• Responsible for the daily monitoring of the log aggregation (SIEM) to identify and investigate incidents occurring on UC’s network.• Work with diverse groups across the university landscape to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of University data.• Prepare reports and communication for law enforcement and general counsel.• Serve as the security subject matter expert in application vulnerability scanning for web applications. Responsible for working with colleges and departments to encourage participation in this important risk reduction program.• Responsible for the development of case management policies and procedures including evaluating and choosing an appropriate tool. Procedures will include case creation, documentation, reporting and closure.
