There's a Volutone right here in Simi Valley so naturally it was the first distributor that I setup an account with early on at The Tech Source. Started in 1902, this family run business was patient and kind to a small startup like me. I didn't forget it and I guess neither did they. After closing the doors to The Tech Source they were my first call and it just so happened that Timo Hildebrandt had just left Van Nuys for AVAD. Talk about timing! I went to work for Nancy out of Van Nuys. Line management, merchandising, inventory management, sales trend analysis.

I read an influential book at this stage. The eMyth by Michael Gerber. It inspired me to start my own business. Oh, and I found myself chronically out of work for the first time not by choice. I formed a California S-Corp, filled a fictitious business name statement, opened a business banking account (thanks Wells Fargo - after several banks declined without a personal guarantee) and after all that started on a business plan. Ya, so that was backwards. I pretty quickly aimed at low voltage systems so I obtained my C-7 contractors license.Lic.# 849004What an amazing run this was. For 10 years I managed to grow a business from the ground up. I obtained certifications from many electronics manufacturers and had the privilege of working for/with dozens of notable celebrities and successful executives. I made it through the tough economy of 2008/9 but with seeking council from my wife chose to shut down in 2012. Onward and upward.

After obtaining my undergraduate degree I began my technology journey by way of various IT roles. Remember back when there was such thing as a webmaster? Yes, I did that. And I delved into the intersection of entertainment and technology in several roles leading up to this position with Warner Brothers. Where I managed a staff of producers, 12 direct reports, for online production (Web and AOL). Liaison between Time Warner divisions. Reported to the VP of Production.
