A boutique app shop. Hypercompact was founded by myself and, engineer and musician, Andy Ross.• App for This American Life and OKgoHypercompact built a hybrid game controller/musical instrument that was used during a live broadcast of This American Life. The show was beamed to theaters around the country where audiences participated in OKgo's performance. Projected on stage were colored tracks with matching colored shapes dropping behind each band member. Think "Live Guitar Hero".http://hypercompact.com/tal-okgo/• Super Quick Pitch PipeSuper Quick was an app we had a lot of fun creating. It's purpose was to be very quick way to tune *by ear* by simply launching the app, setting the phone down, and tuning.It was was especially fun to reconstruct parts of the app in HTML/CSS to emulate the interactions. Really heavy textures were all the rage :Phttp://hypercompact.com/superquick/• ABC Slides Was an education based game aimed at teaching very young children how to write the alphabet. I got the idea from my daughter, who was 1 at the time, who very immediately understood the slide to unlock mechanism on the iPhone. I used the paradigm of a knob and a track to illustrate the alphabet. It was a metaphor that very easily got a child to draw the letters of the alphabet. It also included illustrative and interactive drawings for each letter.We stopped development when I joined Google.
