As the sole human resources professional I am responsible for all of the Human Resources for the Canadian Winfooz office. The majority of my time has been spent recruiting for our Canadian and US offices to build our team. I managed all aspects of the recruiting process from writing job descriptions, managing job postings, interviews, offers and on boarding. I have implemented a new payroll and time tracking software and rolled this out to all staff providing training. I also am a key part of developing our company culture. As a startup we go through many changes and I help make sure everything continues smoothly and that employees are happy and productive.

As the sole Human Resources professional I am responsible for all aspects of Human Resources at System Fencing. I have written, edited and implemented several new policies and procedures during my time here which has lead to a stronger structure and corporate culture. I am also responsible for recruitment of any positions. I manage our online postings as well as any pre-screening and interviews. I strive to find the best fit for our company and the position available. My other major task is payroll administration, from basic employee data information to ensuring all hours are correct, overtime calculated properly and approval of payroll for the pay period at hand. Another role I enjoy is leading the Social committee. I feel that employee centered events companies host can bring employees together and create a stronger company culture. These events are used to not only have fun but to build team work and inter-departmental relationships. I recently have been appointed as the Logistics Coordinator. Coming from a logistics company I was easily able to fill in this role. I am responsible for sourcing quotes for our Account Executives and ensuring that their shipments are arriving to our customers on time. I also do all customs documents for these shipments as required.

As the inaugural IC Services and Compliance Coordinator for All Canadian Courier’s largest branch, I have had the opportunity to develop and hone the skills necessary to be successful in Human Resources. I frequently deal with small to medium sized businesses to determine their driver needs, solve issues and suggest improvements to their fleet or route. Upon recruitment of a driver, I will guide them through our extensive training and policy program, on the road training and continuously ensure compliance and their performance on our fleet.My primary objective is to recruit Independent Contractors to supply new contracts and fill available spaces in our fleet through the use of CareerBuilder and word of mouth. I am also tasked with maintaining the compliance for Transport Canada. I monitor that all drivers have valid licenses, ownership, insurance, as well as a clear drivers abstract and background check. I continuously ensure they are compliant and successful on our fleet.

While working for Greenhawk, I was responsible for Customer Service and assisting the Corporate Team. I answered a multi-line phone system, took orders from customers and communicated with vendors for product information, pricing, placing orders and returning defective stock.As a resource available for the Corporate Team I was required to problem solve any client issues so they could be resolved as soon as possible, as well as use Salesforce to assist franchise locations where they needed assistance.

As an Employee Services Administrator I was responsible for assisting the management team with recruiting, administrative work, data entry and interviews. I acted as an Executive Assistant to the HR Team by answering the multi-line phone system, directing calls, taking messages and solving issues where I could. I posted recruitment ads daily for positions located across the country and collected and sorted all incoming resumes. I became very proficient with Fastworkforce for recruiting and applicant tracking.This position originally started on as a work term and progressed to part time employment until I graduated Humber.
