Morganne Crouser has a Masters in Social Work concentrating in “Transformative Social Work” from the University of Vermont and a Women's Studies B.A., concentrating in "Education as Activism" from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This profile utilizes gender neutral pronouns (they/them) both to reflect Morganne's non-binary identity, but also in an effort to break free of binary language that reinforces cissexism and perpetuates the oppression of transgender and non-binary people.As a clinician, Morganne employs anti-oppressive and feminist practices. They believe in empowerment-based, client-centered care. Their work is an eclectic mix of psychoeducation, narrative, sensorimotor, process-experiential, solution-focused, and expressive therapies. Above all, Morganne appreciates the power of play when working with families and clients of all ages. As a WPATH provider, they are working to re-direct best practices with transgender clients to trauma-informed, culturally competent methods that locates the "problem" within cissexism rather than the transgender identity.As an educator, Morganne has taught courses at the high school and college levels, and presented at numerous national conferences. Additionally ze have consulted with local and national youth organizations in the creation of diversity programming for youth and staff development. Their workshops are informed by experience in both academia and community activism, and are fueled by a desire to create change. Morganne facilitates utilizing the Intergroup Dialogue model, focusing on the group process and experiential learning techniques, and drawing on the various identities of participants.
