I studied visual/digital culture, science as cultural practice, and the sociology of social movements. My thesis was on finding patterns of agency in the 'failures' of capitalist/colonial production systems, specifically looking at dub music, techno, IDM and their appropriation and 'misuse' of technology for culture-making.Through my practice, I've developed a broad knowledge of current information technologies including web servers, multi-media production software for audio and video, integrated hardware and software systems, wifi networks, operating systems, and cloud-based SaaS products. I've also been lucky enough to travel to the edges of things to see what we may forget about in our day-to-day lives - we still have a lot of work to do! Currently, I’m based in Berlin developing new music while working with the wonderful international team at Cobot which helps people and communities around the world automate and manage their workspace. Working here gives me insight into how creative spaces operate - as well as challenges me in how to provide stellar support for such a diverse global customer base.I have a lot of respect for spaces that support people in creating new experiences with sound and music, so chat me up if we meet! I’m always intrigued by decolonizing user experiences of places, objects, and software ‘in the wild’ - when used well, technology rebalances power and unlocks the full potential of people working together in community.

Professional MusicianMemeshift Mar 1984 - PresentBerlin Area, GermanyI wrote my first piece of music in Indonesia when I was 4 years old and am informed by punk, dub, Americana, gamelan, techno, IDM and other more experimental sounds. Lately I've enjoyed things at 160bpm or faster alongside the harmonics that long, stretched out chords on a piano can produce. You can find my latest work on Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, YouTube and Soundcloud.
