My work primarily focuses on adolescents and adults aged 13 to 30 with concerns related to anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, trauma, and grief and loss. My therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral, focusing on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with a solution-focused mindset, helping the client develop their individual set of beliefs and approach to living through rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT). I encourage client-led counseling sessions, believing that the client is able to enact change when they are vocal in their journey towards growth and most in-tune with themselves. I feel that this combined with increased self-awareness and the confrontation of maladaptive thoughts and behaviors will make for a successful counseling experience. I strive to balance mindful awareness and a genuine, empathetic, collaborative counselor-client relationship in order to reach the client’s counseling goals.It is my role as a counselor to provide non-judgmental support, empower the client, help build healthy coping skills, and aid the client throughout their counseling journey.
