As the Assistant Director for Personal Assisstant Services I am responsible for the operation of a $30M Medicaid-funded Personal Assistance Services Department. I support our staff and consumers through strategies designed to increase compliance with State and Federal regulations, maximize and leverage our resources, and provide excellence in consumer care. My focus is on strategy, compliance, and developing partnerships that empower independent living for people with disabilites. As a servant leader with a background in public health and community engagement I am constantly seeking to develop, implement and evaluate policies and programs that truly reflect the needs of our consumers and workers. I apply many evicence-based theoretical constructs and best practices to my work, leading to policy advocacy and strategy for provision of sustainable, high-impact direct services.

Managed the operations of the research and community engagement program for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to develop program objectives, goals, and methods of program evaluation, manage all community based research projects, providing input and direction on new project ideas, collaboration, and funding sources. I was also responsible for developing strategies to ensure sustainability of the program. In this position I have secured over $1 million in funding for research projects.
