The work package of TUM includes the selection / further development of a hydropower turbine for process water with high sediment loads to ensure a sustainable energy supply in ore mines in Peru. @ Hydropower divisionTopic of the thesis: "Study of the floating behavior of a floating PV array, as a basis for the mooring system by Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) simulation."- Creation of a 3-dimensional numerical model of a floating PV array with DualSPHysics. - The model includes a numerical tank with a dissipative beach, a wave generator, a floating structure (where each floating body can be considered as a single body) and mooring lines. - Evaluation of the generated data with ParaView for comparison with an example case of DualSPHysics.Further tasks:- Generation of a 3D topography model from DEM and bathymetry data in QGIS & Excel for 2D CFD simulations.- Preparation of data sets in QGIS for further processing.- Preparation of 3D CAD models for CFD simulations for a large hydropower plant project.- Preparation of a numerical model for the simulation of flow conditions at a specific section. Input data for the preliminary design of a spillway structure.- Preparing various project specific reports and presentations.- Continuous support on project specific background research, including regional specific regulatory research.This included expertise for various software such as MS Office, Deltek Maconomy, QGIS, IBER, FreeCAD and DualSPHysics.
