Systematically exploring the class of jet event shapes in order to identify suitable candidates for calibrations of the experimentally determined Monte Carlo (MC) top quark mass parameter. Development of a framework to handle sub-leading (but not small) top quark decay effects. Using a small computing cluster to generate data from simulating e+e- annihilation with top quark pair production (Monte Carlo methods). Subsequent data analysis and calibration of the MC top quark mass parameter in order to relate this quantity to a theoretically well defined quark mass concept.
