I am a faculty member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Mechatronics at Ariel University. My research focus is the fracture and fatigue behavior of composite laminates and new materials.Fracture and fatigue are fascinating phenomena. Lack of knowledge of the fracture and fatigue behavior of adhesive joints, as well as of carbon or glass fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs or GFRPs), may result in catastrophic failures. Studying the influence of mode-mix, test rate, service environment, and structure-property relationships on the crack growth may be used to improve safety and efficiency in aerospace and other industries. Understanding the mechanisms which control failure may assist in improving strength or damage tolerance, aid in developing damage detection tools, as well as encourage failure stability intervention. The main aim of my research is to employ knowledge and relations obtained from fatigue and fracture investigations to control, predict and prevent catastrophic failure. By doing so, safer design with the use of accurate safety margins will enable the prevention of catastrophic failures in aerospace structures. In addition to my research, teaching courses have always enchanted me. Since I was a teenager, I have tutored and taught children, soldiers, high school students, and B.Sc. students. Moreover, I have been active in lecturing, instructing, and managing laboratory courses for undergraduate students. Besides having a wide teaching experience in formal classroom and laboratory settings, I have taken part in course preparation, upgrade, and modification.
