At Bruce Power, I was part of the Project Management and Construction (PMC) division under the Asset Management portfolio. My role included supporting the Project Manager in the use of Project Management and Engineering principles to support fieldwork activities. Much of the focus related to using the Engineering Change Control process to capture field modifications for the project(s). This role allowed me to challenge design decisions where appropriate, assist in developing testing methods, as well as recommend and document field modifications.

Project Scope: Metrolinx/GO Transit sub-contractor responsible for fabrication, installation and commissioning diesel and DEF systems including system integration in the GO Whitby East Rail Maintenance Facility.Management- Supervised a team of up to 12 welders/labourers tracking project progress, manpower logs, tasks, and site resources- Coordinated between inspectors, sub-contractors, and suppliers to complete various project deliverable - Supported project activities including: hydro and pneumatic pressure testing, gathering data, root cause problems as they arise, and relayed information between crew and the Project Engineer.Safety / Quality- Part of the JHSC on-site: trained in Part 1 and Part 2 of JHSC referencing OH&SA- Helped develop a Master Quality Manual that encompasses the entire scope of work. This included ITPs for mechanical and electrical, as well as procedures and checklists for installation, assembly and testing.

Business Analysis / Costing- Experienced performing new product feasibility assessment – review drawings for dimensions, tolerances and specifications to make economic judgement to quote product and potentially add business.- Responsible for reviewing and updating the standard costing for entire plant; ensuring quotes are accurate. - Developed, in MS Access (SQL), a new relational database quoting system to capture and easily retrieve historical data of parts previously made to help quote new jobs quicker and more accurately. Process Improvement / Quality - Performed capability studies (SPC) on critical part dimensions – interpret GD&T from part drawings- Designed gages and fixtures to be used by quality personnel and automated machines- Worked with a team of engineers to develop new and improve old processes internally and with suppliers. - Reviewed internal and external processes reviewing ASME and ISO / TS 16494 standards are met- I was involved with 9 new product launches where I was responsible to developed tests to ensure product can be manufactured to print, as well as developing process flows and aided to get parts PPAP approved.

- Managed a group of 40 student mentor/mentee pairs ensuring mentors are maintaining adequate communication with mentees and no conflicts arise- Monitored monthly progress reports from students in program looking for trends and recruitment opportunity- Scheduled, organized and facilitated events by tracking status of participants, assisting with logistics and registration. Event turnout was over 40 engineering students which included 12 new students to program- Mentored three first year students; required strong communication and problem solving skills. Learned how to find the root cause of problems, listen and set attainable goals so mentees can succeed
