Integral member of the Veryan Medical team which successfully received pre-market approval in the US for a grade III medical device, the BioMimics 3D stent.Duties included:o Analysis of cadaver data to define the loading characteristics of the stented femoropopliteal artery.o Development of a novel test method to subject the BioMimics 3D stent to realistic loading parameters.o Liaising with external test labs for the successful completion of PMA testing.o Planned and conducted validation and verification testso Design and development of an experimental flow loop to analyse the flow through the BioMimics 3D stent, project completed in collaboration with University Hospital Cologne, Germany.o Investigation and reporting of device complaint cases.o CAPA experience including, root cause analysis, implementation of correction and preventative actions and effectiveness reviews.o Development of technical documentation in accordance with internal standards and ISO 13485o Development of test jigs and fixtureso Reviewing adverse events from the MIMICS-2 clinical trail and MIMICS-3D registry, including EU vigilance reporting and US MDR reporting.o Software validation of CAD programs and custom MATLAB scripts.o Management of the equipment, calibration and maintenance system.Co-Authored Publicationso “Deformation of stented femoropopliteal arteries based in three-dimensional CT reconstruction” (podium presentation at LINC 2017)o “4D flow MRI analysis of swirling flow induced by the BioMimics 3D helical stent” (presented at Cirse 2018)

Worked as part of a team on the Hemostasis line, which produced Hemostasis valves designed to prevent the backflow of blood during surgical procedures. As a result of my hard-working, quick-learning personality I was trained in the all stages of the valve production on this fast-paced, high volume producing line. I was also regularly responsible for final inspection of the final product, ensuring the order was completed up to a high standard and on time.

Throughout my time in Abbott as a Technical Services Engineer intern, I was exposed to a vast amount of work on a number of projects (individual and team projects), which included: technical writing, statistical analysis, presentions, execution of validation protocols, execution of engineering studies and audit preparation.My internship gave me a very hands on experience where I was given a huge amount of responsibility. The experience provided me with a vast amount of business knowledge and allowed me to use the skills/knowledge I acquired in university in a professional environment.
