    My current role is working directly under the SENDCO.1) I create 1:1 bespoke sessions for students on the SEND register who are referred to me. These sessions have programs completely tailored to the social and emotional goals of the young person. Each student has a 'success book' where they record achievements of the session or their day to build a record of accomplishments. Sessions I have run have included:-Identifying, understanding and materialising emotions-Emotional regulation strategies -Understanding their conditions better biologically and what this means for them (Autism, ADHD, PDA etc) -The importantance of self confidence and how to build it-Following an area of special interest in order to encourage attendance2) I also support students with EHCPs, Person Centred Plans or additional needs in the classroom. Advocating for, and facilitating, what they need to access the curriculum.3) I am a key worker for 14 students currently, accross KS3/4. This means I meet with them every 3 weeks (or more if needed) to ensure their support plans are being met and arranging any additional support required. 4) I strive to get involved in the wider school. So I arrange and write the SEND bulletin fortnightly to inform colleagues and SEND parents of what the SEND department is up to. I see my greatest duty as removing barriers young people face so they can achieve what they want to.

    In this role I work with a great team to teach and support students with autism, ADHD and other learning needs 1:1 and in small groups at secondary ability.
