Morris L. Thomas, JD, is a native of Alabama and a former Washington, D.C., Homicide Investigator. After spending many years as a small business owner, Morris joined Santa Clarita’s (California) local newspaper, the Signal, where he remained for 12 years. Throughout his tenure at the Signal, Morris served as Circulation Director, Administrative Director and Publisher of the Santa Clarita Business Journal, Interim Publisher and General Manager of the newspaper.As Chairman Buck McKeon’s District Director and Communications Director for the past two and a half years, Morris was responsible for operations in the 25th Congressional District of California. He was intimately involved in establishing and maintaining key government and business relationships in an area that included major centers of aerospace and defense contracting. Morris was also responsible for directing and coordinating communications between McKeon’s Congressional office and over 714,000 constituents.Morris received a Bachelor of Science from Cal State University, Long Beach and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the father of three daughters, Brittany, Alexia, and Morgan, all of which grew up in Santa Clarita.
