Recent university graduate seeking employment within structural design, building science, and/or heritage conservation so that I may begin working towards my Professional Engineering License. The Architectural Conservation & Sustainability Engineering program at Carleton University instilled my passion for heritage conservation and sustainable design by giving me the chance to work on projects that really interested me, including:• Evaluating the significance of historic sites like the Log Farm in Ottawa using total station and laser scanning to create floor plans, rectified elevations, and to capture a point cloud• Researching the success of adaptive reuse in industrial and commercial sites such as Landschaftspark in Duisburg Germany and Mill City Museum in Minneapolis • Designing a retrofit for the St. Patrick’s Building located on campus to bring it up to current NBCC standards, using SAP2000 for analysis, and AutoCAD and Revit for construction drawings• Performing condition assessments at 527 Sussex Drive and preparing a project dossier outlining deterioration patterns and causes that was then used to recommend suitable solutionsWhile at university I served as Head Facilitator for Carleton’s Fall Orientation Week, Artistic Director for the Carleton Engineering Musical, Student Ambassador for the Engineering Recruitment & Outreach Office, Council Member for the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Chapter, in addition to VP positions within Panhellenic Council and Alpha Omicron Pi. These roles required a high degree of leadership, collaboration, and time management skills that I bring into my professional life on a daily basis. With approximately a decade of customer service and hospitality experience, I understand the importance of focusing on client needs. At Paul Rushforth Real Estate I work alongside skilled professionals in a fast-paced setting, providing support to thirteen agents on 660+ transactions in 2019. My diligence has been rewarded with several promotions within the company and I look forward to bringing this growth mentality to a new company, new position, and to new challenges.
