    Designing and delivering Natural Flood Management schemes in the Upper Cuckmere and Powdermill catchments and across the High Weald National Landscape.The work involves a very broad range of tasks - working with local communities, individuals impacted, landowners, contractors, and wide range of stakeholders including the Environment Agency, ESCC flood department, Sussex Wildlife Trust, water companies and others.The job to date has involved scoping the most suitable places for NFM interventions which have the greatest chance of delivering mitigation benefit to impacted communities and landowner support. Designing and delivering pilot projects after obtaining funding and ordinary watercourse/main river, felling or other consents.I use GIS and SCALGO flood modelling software as part of my work, and have written major bids to DEFRA and the EA to extend the project.

    Worked to deliver an EU-funded Natural Flood Management pilot project in South East England as part of the national pilot NFM project. Worked as a member of the strategic Medway Flood Partnership - and the EU "FRAMES" project with partners frrm the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Denmark. The project sought to inspire an holistic approach to climate-change induced flooding through better planning and preparedness, increased environmental and community resilience, improved emergency response and post-flood recovery. The pilot I was responsible tested a landscape scale Natural Flood Management approach to hold water in the landscape to reduce flood peaks at 12 different landholdings across the region, and at the same time provided multiple benefits for biodiversity and farm enterprises.The project was successfully delivered in March 2021 exceeding its original targets.
