As an educator, I am passionate about experiential and project-based learning. I believe it is essential for students’ academic growth to experience a plethora of hands-on projects and to use various learning modalities where children can explore their own learning styles and engage in an academic pursuit they are passionate about. I prioritize creating a positive and safe learning environment through building relationships with my students, first and foremost. My goal is to guide them in their unique learning path. I believe in empathy-based teaching models in classroom management and prioritize building a strong classroom community.I hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters in Education from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from UC Santa Cruz in Environmental Studies.I have professional development experience and certificates in Neuroscience and Engagement, Social Emotional Learning Foundations and Inquiry, Jo Boaler's Mathematic Mindsets and Inquiry, Calkin's Writer's Workshop, and Responsive Classroom behavior management strategies.
