I am a lawyer in the San Diego office of Foley & Lardner LLP. My experience includes a broad variety of energy transactions, but focuses on the development and financing of energy projects, with particular emphasis on wind energy and solar energy projects--and, more recently, energy storage. I also expect to be working increasingly on water projects (treatment, recycling, desalination, etc.).My project finance background spans the full range of transactions involving wind and solar projects (both CSP and PV), including development, finance, acquisition, and divestiture, but also includes experience with the construction, acquisition, and/or financing of combustion generator projects, hydro-electric facilities, cogeneration facilities, nuclear energy facilities, biofuel projects, and other energy projects. I have particularly deep experience in project finance construction documentation matters and complex power purchase arrangements. I frequently work with companies Chinese clients, particularly solar energy equipment manufacturers and developers. I am quite familiar with the challenges facing Chinese companies entering the US market, and also the challenges facing American companies when doing business with Chinese companies.I frequently present at conferences on renewable energy matters. I am the author of "Jagged Rocks of Wisdom: Professional Advice for the New Attorney,"​ "Jagged Rocks of Wisdom - The Memo: Mastering the Legal Memorandum,"​ and "Jagged Rocks of Wisdom - Negotiation: Mastering the Art of the Deal." I was born in Oslo, Norway, and am a native Norwegian speaker. I am a graduate of the Yale Law School and Augustana College.
