He has more than 15 years of experience in structural engineering and specializes in concrete durability in marine environment and sustainability and resiliency in concrete construction. Dr. Khatib received his Doctorate Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Miami and he has shared his expertise and research with top media outlets, including NPR, NBC, WLRN, Miami Herald, and many global engineering publications. He has published more than 30 journal papers, technical reports, and conference papers. According to Google Scholar, his work has been referenced by more than 300 practitioners and researchers from all over the world (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=tRwJq8QAAAAJ&hl=en). He has spoken at many premier conferences in the field of structural engineering, including the American Concrete Institute Conventions and the American Society of Civil Engineers Conferences.
