I am a feminist researcher and Vanier Scholar at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and a settler on the traditional territory of the Beothuk and Mi’kmaq. I have studied and worked in international development and the not-for profit sector for over 10 years. My MA (2022) research focused on the relationship between gender and work for development workers in Lao PDR, Southeast Asia. My PhD project seeks to problematize dominant assumptions about animals that are at play in international development projects by interrogating the relationship between knowledge and power in Western development discourses and practice that makes claims to universality in how humans relate to the more-than-human.I have had the great privilege of living in France, China, and Lao PDR. I am curious and excited about where the next opportunity will take me!
