As CEO of Lake Macquarie City Council, I lead the Hunter’s largest council, an organisation of more than 1300 employees servicing a community of 220,000 people. I am a collaborative and progressive leader driven by a passion for local government and the role it can play in supporting local communities. My leadership qualities and achievements have been recognised by peers in business and local government. I was named Hunter Business Person of the Year in 2019 and am a recipient of the Minister’s Award for Women in Local Government.I am known for my staff-centred approach to leadership and for bringing a strong business focus to the operations of Council. I instituted a significant organisational restructure of Lake Macquarie City Council, driven by consultation with staff, and was one of the key contributors to the establishment of Lake Macquarie’s economic development company, Dantia, an innovative model for accelerating growth, driving investment and increasing job opportunities in the city.I have a strong belief in the power of collaboration and, since 2017, have fostered the development of successful partnerships between Lake Macquarie City Council and leading organisations across the region, including other councils, Hunter Water, Committee for the Hunter, University of Newcastle, Urban Development Institute of Australia, Property Council, Avondale University and Allambi Care.
