I am a freelance with great experience in designing embedded mixed analog and digital systems, starting from the system specifications till the prototype and production, firmware included, which interfaces with a large number of sensors and actuators of all types (mainly innovative). The so called command and control systems, included secure IoT systems, with the aid of experts of the specific application area.So I collaborate With start-ups to develop innovative successful products.

I’m working to create general development instruments that allow Me To use all my HW/SW/FW embedded experience in order to design IOT systems, using Raspberry and Microchip (PIC 8/16 bit), acquiring also a deep knowledge of IT security using Kali Linux OS, since I have been sure from the beginning that security problems for these systems, would have become crucial in a short time.In the meantime I’m acquiring knowledge about the smart card/RFID technology, dedicated for security and access control.

- Main Tasks :- Development and Prototyping of a new upgraded version of the IQ Modulator (HW and relevant FW embedded) using the Analog Device AD9957 for the new generation of RES FADR, always using PLD Altera and PIC 8 bit;- Design an prototyping of a card for the complete Radar timing generation for the RES FADR, using FPGA Altera, RAMs and 8 bit PIC ; - Supervision on the overall RES system HW design;- Supervision to the developement an prototyping of a DataPumper Card, always for the RES System;The function of this card is to synchronize the offline data coming from the DSP card with the real time radar signals, using Altera FPGA and 8 bit PIC; The syncrhonized data are then sent to the IQ modulator;- Design and Prototyping of a GPS receiver; this receiver had the peculiarity to have both the sampling rate and the number of bit of each sample completely programmable from a PC via USB;The maximum values of Both these variables is higher Than the value used in commercial GPS receiver; This for the scope of studying the effect of interfering signals over the performance of the GPS position calculation;To obtain these higher sampling rate and number of bit value, thestate of the art of components has been used both for digital (High Performance FPGA) and for analog (Completely Microprocessor controllable Amplifiers Gain and Up/Down converter Speed and Number of Bits);- System Supervision and design, prototyping and validation test of the complete HW and PIC Firmware of the ENI “Enjoy” Car Sharing onboard system. Design of the definitive HW and Firmware.

- Type of role : HW/SW Embedded and System Consultant- Main task : Design, Prototyping and production of 16 bit I/Q quadrature SSB modulator translating these IQ 16 bit data, coming from a custom scenario contained in a file, into a 30 MHz signal, in phase with the Radar COHO. This Equipment uses the Analog Device AD9857 chip; The first modulator has been designed for the SINDRE Radar; The revision has then been made for FADR Radar; - Design and prototyping of a 16 bit IQ modulator for the EMPAR Radar, using a new, more powerfull chip: Analog Device AD9957;

DittaIDS Ingegneria dei Sistemi di Pisa - Data​: 7/1994 – 10/2004- Type of role : Circuit Laboratory Team Leader; - Main Activity :- Development of the entire HW part (Receiver, Transmitter, Acquisition System) of a Georadar Equiupment (first in Italy); This system, including the improovement that in the time have been performed, is nowdays succesfully commercilized by IDS all over the world; The Transmitter is a balanced Pulse generator at various bandwith (using avalanche BJT and Step Recovery Diode), and a PRF varying from 50 KHz to 400 KHz; The receiver is a sampling balanced receiver converting the RF signal into audio frequency with the technique of the sampling oscilloscope (Sampling Pulses obtained by using avalanche BJT and Step Recovery Diodes); The dynamic of the entire system had to be very extended (100 dB), and this required a particularly accrate design; - - Development and prototyping of an acquisition card (HW and FW Embedded) of an interferometer Radar, using FPGA, DDS, 16 bit Audio ADC, Cypress FX2 processor; -Development and prototyping of the an Up/Down converter at 900 MHz (IF) for both the Transmitter (gain controllable amplifier) and the receiver (IF Mixer to Downconvert the 900 MHz IF into an audio band) of the same Radar; The gain controllable amplifier had to boost the 900 MHZ input signal till 1 W RMS, in order to drive correctly the other part of the Radar beeing an Up conversion to some GHZ using Step Recovery based frequency multiplier;

DittaTesis Spa - Data​: 1/1989 – 12/1994- Type of Role: HW/SW/System Senior Consultant.- Main Activity : developement of HW, Acquisition and Display SW (on a PC, drivers included) of a hyperbilc localizer based onthe Radiomobile System used by the FireFighter in that date. To correctly calibrate the system I had to build two subcircuits that I integrated into the mobile radio and radio bridge to add to these Equpment the AFC and AGC functions.This way I obtained amore accuarate measurment of the Distance of the mobile radio from the three used radio bridges, being more contrallable the group delay of the Signal inside these equipments.Attivita proseguita presso:Alenia Spazio Spa- Data​: 1/1992 – 12/1993- Type of Role : HW/SW and sustem senior consultant- Main activity - I was responsible of the Performance Estimator andPerformance Analyzer (PE and PA) SW Developement inside the XSAR radar developement. The PE and PA SW have been integrated by me together with the Ground Segment team at JPL in Pasadena (Los Angeles) at the presence of Ing. Rubertone (Alenia Spazio Responsible). DittaAlenia Spazio Spa - Data​: 1/1994 – 12/1994- Type of role : HW/SW and system senior consultant, directlyasked for by Ing. Rubertone ( Alenia Spazio);- Main Activity : I gave a contribution to the HW specification for the ASAR Radar, in which Marconi was prime Contractor. I worked together with Ing. Angino (Alenia Spazio).

- Simulation of the number of ufficials of the techinal body of the Army (COTES), starting from the rules applayed in that period, in order to optimize the percentage of persons present for each degree.The experience has been continued in "Corpo Tecnico Esercito"​ c/o Scuola di Artiglieria Conatrarea "Montefinale"​ di Bracciano - Data​: 09/1987 – 12/1988- Tipo di firm: Corpo specialistico Militare- Main Activity- Responsibility of the HW and SW design of a system based on a PC local network, connected to a main Honeywell Bull Unix based calculator, capable to handle the real time message system necessary to support an exercitation of "Artiglieria Contraerea".The system was succesfully tested in Codroipo (Veneto) in November 1988.
