In Malawi, PIH works hand in hand with the Ministry of Health in Neno District. In this role, I perform the following duties:Detailed Scope of work:Provide technical support in quantitative research tool design, programming, and data collection.Support research-related activities including protocol development, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, literature reviews, study design, data collection instruments, management, data analysis, preparation of abstracts, posters, oral presentations and publications.Design and conduct relevant research as assigned by PIH/APZU leadership Support analysis of data using statistical softwares such as STATA, R, PowerBIUse research results to write reports, manuscripts and reviews and present findings in appropriate forums including conferences.Participate in local and international dissemination activitiesSupport the creation of presentations/posters in readiness for research dissemination Conduct impact evaluation of PIH project/programs as assigned by PIH/APZU leadership Build research capacity for staff including supporting background literature searches, basic data analysis, editing and writing manuscripts, drafting conference abstracts,Give input to the review of research proposals

During this post, I did the following:Lead and managed Monitoring and Evaluation systems for 3 programs: A Communicable and Non-communicable Diseases community screening program, Community Health Workers program and a Socio-Economic Rights programTrained and provided mentorship and supervision to a team of 1,128 Community Health workers, 14 Site supervisors, 6 Program officers and 1 M&E Coordinator in data collection, aggregation and technical report writingDeveloped questionnaires, databases, collected and analyzed data using Excel, R, DHIS2, QGIS, Commcare and Stata for all Community Health Department

I collaborate with Dr Benno Kreuels and Dr Jorge Blessmann from the Bernhard Nocht Insitute of Tropical Medicine to implement a community survey on snakebite knowledge and experience in Neno District Malawi. The goal is to publish and add literature on snakes in Malawi

I got a grant of £3,749 to research on Knowledge, attitude, and practices of snakebite among health care workers and community members in Neno district Malawi. I collaborated with researchers from the Malawi Ministry of Health, Neno district health office, Partners In Health, the Ben Gurion University of Negev in Israel, and the Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine in Germany. From this, I have managed to develop a manuscript and submitted to the Plos Neglected Tropical Disease journal

Ungweru is a grassroots non-governmental organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable groups in northern Malawi by providing Agriculture, Water and Sanitation, Women and Child empowerment expertise. In ordered to accomplish this, I did the following; Developed and managed M&E systems: Questionnaires, databases, data analysis and donor report writing for 3 projects: HIV/AIDS Orphans and Vulnerable Children project, Smart Agriculture project and WASH project. Provided mentorship and supervision to 2 project officers and 6 community facilitators in Monitoring and Evaluation
