Working at Beaulieu Park Station Project in Chelmsford, Essex. The project is a construction of new railways station that will allow commuters to travel and from London.The duties and responsibilities on this project is to assist senior QS in the Financial reporting, Production of bill of Quantity, Cost Estimation of the project. Through this role, I’ve developed skills in risk management, dispute resolution, cost estimation laying a strong foundation for my career in quantity surveying.

Worked at different London locations as a assistant quantity surveyor. My main responsibilities was to assist a team where I worked on numerous projects such as residential & commercial. Working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor has given me comprehensive experience in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. I've gained hands-on exposure to cost estimation, budgeting, and the tendering process, while assisting in the preparation of bills of quantities (BOQ) and the preparation of contract bids.

Worked on the refurbishment project of the National Gallery museum. The work involved setting out Soil stabilization tubes for waterproofing works before secant pilling to allow The east wing of the museum connects with the Sainsbury wing. Inside the Sainsbury wing manage removal of services and strengthen work to the existing structure elements. My responsibilities include monitoring the site to check for the settlement due to the piling activities adjacent to the site and maintaining the QA record on site.

Worked on the refurbishment project of the Natural History Museum. The work involved setting out for the installation of steel piles, excavation and installation of deep drainage and attenuation tank, and installation of electrical chambers and RC retaining wall. Maintaining weekly reports of the construction. My responsibilities included to maintain QA records, producing as-builts drawings for the client, and setting out on site.

Worked on the Modernisation of Battersea Power station. My job enrolled setting out and monitoring Hard landscaping of the newly constructed London Underground (LU)Northern line station. Also worked on the construction of hard landscaping in Battersea Phase 3A & 3B. My responsibilities are to maintain health and safety, along with managing,Quality Assurance on-site

Worked on the road and drainage project for Galldris Services. The cost of the projects was £10m. The project involves the construction of commercial office space in the Great Notley area. Theproject includes installation of deep drainage foul and surface water pipes, construction of inspection chamber, Installation of Kerbs, gully, Improved the adjacent lake by construction of a new footpath and landscaping around the lake. My responsibilities are to set out drainage pipe, Inspection chamber, kerbs, and produce and process as buildingsurvey.

Worked on the residential construction project for CWC Contractors. The cost of theproject was £60m. The project was to construct residential flats for first-time buyers. The responsibilities included setting out structural elements of the projects, and qualityassurance of the Engineering materials such as Concrete, Timber, and steelreinforcement. The responsibilities also provide a building survey and daily log of the construction activities.

Worked on the Thames Tideway Project for BMB (Bam Nuttall Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty JV). The cost of the project was £200m and due to open in 2024. The Hammersmith Pumping Station (HAMPS) will be used for the transportation of foul water through the shaft to the connection tunnel 300m long connecting to the main tunnel under the river Thames ending up in Beckton treatment plant in east of London. The worked involves pouring concrete the secondary lining layer in the slipform shutter with the regular installation of steel reinforcement. The responsibilities involve are producing check sheet for work, setting out structural elements with the use of total station and monitor the health and safety standard on site. Worked on the Thames Tideway Project for BMB (Bam Nuttall Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty JV). The cost of the project was £150m and due to open in 2024. The Acton site would be used to receive the main waste water from the main tunnel which will coming underneath the river Thames and as well as intercept the existing Acton Storm Relief combined sewer overflow. The work involved bulk excavation of the shaft with the aid of excavator, spraying the exposed earth with sealing layer of Shotcrete and followed by thick 250mm Primary lining layer was sprayed. Responsibilities associated with this job role was testing concrete panels, monitoring of excavation and shotcrete spraying profiles and to maintain collection of data for daily meeting. Skilled gained are organisational and management.

Working for Luton Dart Project for LLAL(London Luton Airport Limited) for VolkerFitzpatrick Kier JV. The cost of the project is £225 m and due to open in 2021. Luton Dart project will connect existing Luton Parkway Station to Luton Airport terminals by double shuttle APM(Automated People Mover) based on the latest technology. The work involves Heavy Civil works consist of removal of bulk Earthworks, Installation of new drainage, construction of new carpark, Traffic management to the carry out works adjacent to dual carriageway, diversion of existing services, temporary works including site setup and erection of Site Fencing, Permanent work including installation of Steel Sheet piles, auger bored piles.My responsibilities are to check the work carried out by Graduate Engineers, Writing and updating RAMS, Work Permits, Activity Plan for specific work activity, raising RFI and TQ to client’s designer, requisition of materials and Liaising with sub-contractors. TFL Four Line Modernisation Project, Upminster and Ealing CommonWorked on TFL Depot modernisation work for AMCO Giffen group. The project was worth £2 million. The work included upgradation work to Electrical, Civil and Mechanical work. The Electrical work involved the installation of new cabling for the overhead working lights, installation of fire and gas alarms. Civil work involved adding steel braces to the roof trusses, Demolition of the damaged floor slabs and placement of new concrete slabs, construction of new Concrete and Steel ramp, construction of new car park and road in the depot. Mechanical work involved the installation of new gas lines for spot heaters and upgradation of the depot boiler room.My responsibilities were to manage Health and Safety on site, Liaise with sub-contractors on site, QA the work done by sub-contractors, to mentor graduate engineer on site. Skills gained on the project is timekeeping and communication.

Worked on the Thames Water Sewage treatment plant upgrade works for Aecom Murphy Kier (AMK). The project was worth £200 million. The included upgradation of Activated Sludge Plant (ASP) tanks construction of RC slabs, walls and walkways, laying of Foul water and Surface water drainage pipes, construction of manholes and catch pits and Setting out of M&E equipment's. My responsibility was to monitor Health and Safety on site, Check the setting out work done by other graduate engineers and to check the revision of construction drawings on site as well as on company database.

Working on London Underground Project on Bakerloo line for Costain Skanska Joint Venture (CSJV). The work involves with the modernisation of Paddington Station by the construction of new Connecting Passages, lift shafts and Person with reduced mobility(PRM) waiting area. The responsibilities are monitor the construction and setting out the location of Temporary and Permanent Works Steel such as Beam, columns, Steel Connections and Steel Reinforcements and Prepare risk assessment and method statements for a given task.Skills gained on the job is the decision making and leadership. The instrument I used were Leica TS15, TM30, DISTO, Bosch Laser Level and Cat and Genny

Working on Crossrail project in Liverpool St. The work is in secondary lining stage. The work involves preparing primary lining prior to the spray of secondary lining, this included trimmingof tight spots and hollow spots with excavator and proof drilling after trimming to check the thickness of the shotcrete. Worked on invert and wing wall shutter by adjusting shutter to the contour of the tunnel. Monitored the quality of the concrete prior to pour and post pour. Monitored and assisted with the spraying of regulating, Reader AAA, BASF waterproofing, secondary lining (shotcrete), and fireproofing layer. The skills gained are timekeeping and organisational. The software used on the project is Microsoft office (Word & Excel).

The work experience involves in the mining of tunnel to build railway links throughout London and adjacent area. My job role is to manage excavation process of existing TBM concrete rings and spray the exposed soil with shotcrete. Another role is to manage a safe system of work for everyone on site. My responsibility is to maintain the standard of spray concrete by regularly testing samples and regularly monitor the activities of shotcrete.The skills gained are the collection of data, data handling and time management. The software used on the work is Microsoft office 2010.

The work experience was on Victoria station refurbishment project for Vinci Bam Nuttall. The project was to make new station extension to the existing station. The project was in its initial stage to mark the location of auger bored pile for jet grouting and to excavate the ground level to locate the services to check the positioning of pile adjacent to the services. To mark the location and the depth of the pile the total station and the automatic rotation laser level were used. Apart from the surveying job role the work involved manage papers of health and safety on safety board on weekly basis. My Responsibility was to setup and maintenance of surveying equipment’s. To contribute opinion on Health and safety associated to construction activity throughout the week. Skills gained are locating live services with services locater, reading construction drawing, to make construction drawing by CAD software, use of surveying equipment and health and safety documentation on site. The Equipment used was Leica 1201, 1205 total station with Viva Handheld controller.
