Bridging Technology and Policy with Finance and Humor. From the lower middle class streets of Tirunelveli to the dynamic tech corridors of Hyderabad, my journey started with an IT degree from PSG Tech. After three years at TCS-Microsoft, the microfinance crisis in India made me realize that tech geeks and policymakers were like cats and dogs—constantly at odds. So, I decided to play the mediator and earned a Master’s in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS, on a full scholarship from the Li Ka Shing Foundation. While in Singapore, I not only tackled finance strategy consulting but also couch-surfed (free Airbnb) across 20+ countries, embracing diverse cultures and discovering that an uncomfortable couch can indeed be a teacher. My travel adventures and cultural immersions were a masterclass in global finance and policy.Back in India, I joined Helpr (later Heptagon and now a fully owned subsidiary of Quess Corp.) in 2015. As Head of Growth, I transformed the company from a small team of 8 to a robust family of 185. Imagine running a marathon with a herd of cats—yep, that’s what it felt like. By November 2019, it was time for a new adventure—solving labor market frictions through a skill-based community economy. In 2020, the Bharat Inclusion Research Fellowship allowed us to explore "Data Ownership & the Gig Economy," interviewing 4,060 gig workers across India. This experience was like trying to knit a sweater with noodles while blindfolded—messy, confusing, but ultimately enlightening. COVID accelerated our experiments in creating multiple skill-based communities. Through primary research, secondary research from books and white papers, and our own experiments in running communities while juggling my well-being, we landed on the protocols for The Internet of Value. I believe it'll lead us to a state where you’re not squeezed by the market's greed or the state's hunger for power but by serotonin and oxytocin. To turbocharge this vision, we launched CommunityVentureStudio—a Y Combinator for skill-based communities. Our goal: create a trillion-dollar equitable economy. Think of us as nurturing gardeners than financial overlords.Yes, it's a lofty goal, but it really comes down to my 24 hours and what I can do within that. I optimize my schedule to the extent that I my customGPT urges me to schedule my existential dread. If you’re up for a adrenaline pumping journey filled with more twists and turns than a Hatha yoga session, punctuated by the occasional existential crisis and copious laughter, let’s connect.

Co-FounderQuantum Computing India Nov 2019 - PresentQuantumComputingIndia is part of the Internet Of Value in our attempt to establish decentralized skill-based communities. Title: A Tale of Two Comebacks: Lagaan and Quantum Computing IndiaOn June 15th, 2001, an iconic film titled "Lagaan" was released, making history and leaving an indelible mark on Indian cinema. This year, June 15th marks not only the 22nd anniversary of that iconic film but also the rebirth of our Quantum Computing India (QCI) community1. A fascinating parallel is the story of the film's director, Ashutosh Gowariker, and our own journey at QCI.Gowariker's first two directorial ventures, "Pehla Nasha" and "Baazi", though considered "safe", had not fared well at the box office. This dealt a blow to his confidence, and he yearned to create something completely different. Similarly, QCI started with great enthusiasm and ambition. We embarked on a journey to explore the enthralling world of Quantum, and together we learned and built. But, just like Gowariker after his initial setbacks, we needed a moment to recompose...Just as Gowariker had a vision for a unique storyline where a crucial battle is resolved through a cricket match, we too have envisioned a unique way to reignite our journey. As Gowariker pitched his unconventional idea to Aamir Khan, the actor was drawn in by the compelling narrative, deciding to act in the film if a suitable producer could be found. The search for a producer was challenging, leading Khan to take the plunge and produce the film himself, bringing on board his then-wife, Reena Dutta, a novice in film-making. Similarly, our community has faced its challenges but has remained resilient and innovative. So, what's common between "Lagaan" and QCI? It's the spirit of resilience, the courage to innovate, and the determination to succeed against all odds. -
Chief Economic System Architect & StorytellerThethirdpillar.Club May 2021 - Mar 2023The future of work is NOT the Gig Economy / Creator Economy but a Community Economy. It can't really work unless the nature of organizations changes & the current hype around DAO (Distributed Autonomous Organisation) is a signal in that direction. To make this possible in a progressively decentralized way we are researching and building three protocols1) ValueCapture2) DAOcommons3) WellbeingProtocolProducts: (In Different Stages of Development)1. Research FellowBharat Inclusion Initiative May 2020 - May 2021Ahmedabad, Gujarat, In- The labour ministry’s draft code defines a gig worker as a person who performs work or participates in a work arrangement and earns from such activities outside of traditional employer- employee relationship. Going by this broad definition the number of Indian gig economy workers are 426 million (informal +temporary workers) i.e. 92% of India's active labour force. Though Digital platform such as Ola, Uber, Amazon, Urbanclap, Swiggy, Zomato have shown us how gig economy platforms can be built and scaled, the downside to such platforms is that the platforms own the data which gives them power to understand the demand deeper and control the demand to squeeze the gig worker and even go further and vertically integrate on the supply side viz, Amazon basics, Swiggy cloud kitchens etc. which may lead to short-term job creation but in the long run leads to capital accumulation through automation and even in the short term gig worker's data is tied to one platform which prevents mobility of her skills. These lead to wage gaps, lack of social net, mental toll and less bargaining power to the gig workers. Digital platforms can be regulated only by regulating the data that powers these platforms. With modern technologies such as permissioned blockchain and new age cryptography algorithms the data ownership can be given to the Gig Worker herself and only the transactional data is held by the platforms. - Hence, the larger research question that we are concerned with here is "A Gig Economy Platform where the Gig worker owns her data with split-incentives to share non-rival data (transactional data) will result in a more equitable distribution of wealth across Bharat and India." -
