I manage the full circle of accounting functions (Ledger, Petty Cash, Cash-in-Safe, AP, AR, Bank Rec, Inventory Control, Asset Acquisition and Financial Statements) in addition to certain operational functions. I work to support the role of the Board President. Some of the duties include:1- Managing the A/P for ~100 active vendors accounting for~ 100K-120K monthly spend (timely payment, cheque issuing, vendor account control).2- Managing the A/R for ~1000 rented units (~750K monthly) including collection activity.3- Preparing the period financial statements (monthly, quarterly and annually) within the ERP.4- Preparing the audit package for the external auditor (BDO).5- Provision of forms, documents and follow-up with the governmental bodies (CRA, WSIB, Banks..etc.)6- Managing the rental unit cost accounting to ensure profitability and appropriate asset management.7- Ensuring data integrity by cleansing the older data in the ERP system and ensuring that proper backup documents are attached.Some of the accomplishments so far include:1- Optimized the revenue collection process by introducing more efficient payment receipts (Interac E-transfers) resulting in recurring savings of ~150K over a period of 8 months2- Recuperated over 500K in missed HST over-payments since 2019 through the active use of the CRA's appeals process.3- Directly collected over 50K in bad debts (savings amounting to 15K in collection fees).4- Eliminated charges arising from late or missed A/P payments resulting in ~3% savings and improved credit facilities with vendors.5- Cultivated member-staff relationships through active communication and problem solving of tenants resulting in an increase of positive Google Reviews for WCRI.
