    Implemented concepts of composite material and sandwich structure to develop light and value-added product as a promising and innovative building material from low-quality natural fibers to - Managed schedule and prioritized tasks to successfully complete an NSF project in a short time- Designed and fabricated a biaxial corrugated geometry as a core for multilayered sandwich panels using computational (FEA) and solid mechanics to reach higher structural and energy performance- Tackled the complex geometry of the core using homogenization method and developing an analytical model via MATLAB to save time and cost- Created a simple technique to manufacture a 4ft. by 8ft. mold in an educational shop to reduce cost significantly- Added the fabrication of 4ft. by 8ft. corrugated panels to the capacity of an educational lab by developing inexpensive tooling- Characterized composite material by conducting coupon tests to develop analytical/FE models- Established failure surface for composite materials based on relevant failure criteria - Developed a damage model using finite element (FE) method to capture load carrying capacity - Performed large-scale bending and compression test to explore structural performance- Evaluated time-dependent behavior by analyzing the collected data form different creep test- Initiated hygrothermal evaluation using a field experiment on a 6-layer and 3-layer sandwich panels instrumented with variety of sensors to understand heat and mass transfer through innovative wall - Mentored undergrad/grad students on performing experiments, composites fabrication, and analyzing data - Fabricated different natural fiber composites using matched-die molding (compression molding) or vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) with different thermoset/thermoplastic resins
