About Mostofa Rafid Uddin
I am a PhD Candidate (expected graduation 2025) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) School of Computer Science and a previous fellow at Center for Machine Learning in Health (CMLH) at CMU. I have 5+ years of experience in developing AI/ML methods for solving challenging biomedical problems.For my PhD research, I work on developing novel generative AI/ML methods for modeling subcellular object morphology and investigate their role as biomarkers. I also work on leveraging large foundation models for zero-shot and few-shot segmentation of 3D tomography images. Before PhD, I worked on language models for protein structure prediction. My works have been published in top AI and Bioinformatics venues like CVPR, NeurIPS, MICCAI, Bioinformatics, Nature Cancer, etc. I thrive in collaborative research and bring a wealth of expertise in feature learning, self-supervised & deep generative models, image analyses, 3D vision, and structural bioinformatics.
