My first Broadreach trip fundamentally changed how I see the world and my place in it. I gained confidence in myself and realized that the world had many more opportunities and possibilities for me than I had ever imagined. More than 30 years later, the world looks pretty different, but it is still my goal that every Broadreach participant has the same chance to broaden their perspectives and to be inspired to keep learning, growing and exploring this amazing world.Since 1993, I have sat in nearly every seat at Broadreach: Student ✔️Summer Intern ✔️Seasonal Instructor ✔️Caribbean Director ✔️Full time Coordinator ✔️Operations Manager ✔️Director ✔️Owner ✔️Uncle - ✔️?Parent - not yet..but they are already signed up for summer 2032!. In the course of this incredible journey I have had the good fortune of working with some of the most interesting, amazing and inspiring leaders, educators, students, parents and professionals I could imagine. I am constantly amazed at the skills, passion, intelligence, resilience and commitment that they all show. Together, we have created life changing opportunities for thousands of young adults from all over the country and the world. One of the great joys in my day is hearing from past participants and families about how their Broadreach experiences shaped them, their values and their trajectory in life. I've recently had the thrill and privilege of speaking with several alumni who are signing their kids up for their first Broadreach experience -- a strong testament to the enduring value and benefit of the experiences we provide. While changing young lives is our mission and will always be our ‘raison d’etre’, It's far from the only important impact we can have. As we chart our course for the next chapter at Broadreach, we also have a renewed focus on other ways we can have a positive impact on our world and for all of our stakeholders.
