Sure, I didn’t know much about copywriting or email marketing at the time, so I started consuming free content like crazy and thought I was going somewhere with it.My friends and family weren’t exactly lining up to bet on my success in the cutthroat SaaS and email marketing world. Their fears were justified because freelancing or solopreneur was not a career they had heard of or felt like safe option. But little did they know, I was fighting my 9-5 corporate enemy with my secret weapon: pure, unfiltered determination (and a solid Wi-Fi connection).After a few months in the agency trenches, I was burnt out and knew—my true calling wasn’t just writing content; it was helping entrepreneurs and business leaders send emails that don’t just sit in the inbox but actually get opened, read, and acted upon. So, I rolled up my sleeves and decided to make the leap into email copywriting for SaaS companies. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t easy.With no portfolio, no industry connections, and no clear value proposition (and yes, I had to Google what that even meant), I had my work cut out for me. But I wasn’t going to let a few minor details stop me. I built my skills, virtually hung out with like minded people, and developed a killer strategy to showcase what I could bring to the table.I started writing daily on various platforms, and even offered free consultations to SaaS founders who were willing to give me a shot. Slowly but surely, the tide turned, and I landed my first client.Then there was no turning back.
