I am passionate about getting people moving! Moving fully (that is, without shying away from taking up space, and in ways that they've never tried, without self-consciousness or harsh criticism) and well (with intention and care). Not for performative points, not for Insta-posts, not because someone said once you need 10,000 steps a day to run from mortality--but because I truly believe engaged movement is a catalyst for wellness and joy. And I want others to feel that, too.I've been teaching dance and yoga for over a decade, to a wide range of ages, bodies, and experience levels.My approach to both is similar. I encourage curiosity, moving with a sense of creative freedom and willingness to learn. My classes comprise a variety of shapes and movement qualities so every student gets the chance to investigate a little deeper, discover efficient and good-feeling movement, and see how the mind and our body are in constant conversation. We use movement to express experience, create new feelings and thought patterns, move blood, lubricate joints, and manage everyday stress.
