In addition to working as a designer, I invest much of my time in mentoring students and participating as a juror for various design awards in Norway. These include:• Student work at The Oslo School of Architecture and design, and at Aalto University's design department• The Norwegian Design Council's award for design excellence, Merket for God Design and their lifetime achievement award, Jacob-prisen.• IxDA Oslo's own prize for interaction design, co-produced with Grafill.

How the client's business works, what their goals are, what their value chain looks like, what's happening in their sector, how should we manage our teams and tackle our platform's technical debt – all of this informs how I work, from the product roadmap down into the details of our designs.

The global Interaction conference took place Lyon in February 2018. I served on the four-member program committee.The conference lasted three days, showcased 70+ speakers, produced 20+ workshops, and had 1500+ participants. Along with my colleagues I vetted and ranked an enormous number of talk proposals, liaised with speakers and workshop organizers and created a high-quality, inclusive and diverse conference lineup I also served as host and moderator throughout each of the three conference days. An intense, highly demanding and very rewarding experience.
