I have been working as a designer or engineer professionally in tech since 2006, though I have been designing websites since 1997. My passion is for improving lives through technology.I currently am designing and building systems to improve cancer treatment at RefleXion Medical.Previously, I bootstrapped research into a personal wellness platform designed to provide improved access to holistic health and mental health resources. Our audience consisted of primarily international users (especially Thai, Eastern European, and Latin American countries). I joined as a UI Designer/Engineer to bring my experience in e-commerce to their virtual goods economy. I quickly advanced in the organization, replacing the existing Design Lead at the company in role less than six months after joining. Over the course of my time at hi5, I managed anywhere from 3 to 5 designers, artists, and front-end engineers and acted as hiring manager for both the design and front-end engineering departments.
