About Maximiliano Pallotto

I am the founder and CEO of XCONS, an e-commerce platform that integrates the whole construction ecosystem, with the goal of becoming the most valuable link for the realization of our customers' businesses and projects. I have 10 years of experience in the technology and construction industry, and a passion for creating innovative and intelligent solutions that improve the quality of life and the environment.Throughout my career, I have founded and led several ventures related to e-commerce, digital tools, services, and products for the housing and residential comfort needs of society. I have specialized in business modeling, process analysis, and quality management systems, and have participated in prestigious forums of value creation, such as the 5 disciplines for innovation at Stanford Research Institute International. I am also an active member of Endeavor's network of Argentina and Chile StartUp alumni network, and have raised funding, pitched investors, and gained media attention and traction for my projects. I have learned from my failures and challenges, and have a strong motivation to never give up and to innovate in the construction processes and materials to make sustainable, high-end homes in a seamless experience.

    At HomeViva.com we attempted to revolutionize Home Improvement industry in LATAM.I founded it with @robertoallende and we got into the first batch of @startupchile, but our approach of a marketplace that connects the offer and demand of construction and buildings maintenance services failed.After Startup Chile, and with Roberto's departure, I partnered with Danilo Botelho as CTO to pursuit a different business model similar to Houzz.com. We did this for two years and learnt a lot in the meantime, raising U$120K from CORFO and others, pitching regional investors, getting lots of media attention and decent traction.By the end of 2014 we decided to shut it down because our efforts to monetize the model weren't providing the results we expected and we were both exhausted.As a post-mortem analysis, we failed to provide solvency to the marketplace, and in the times were the consumer-contractor fit was right, we failed to scale at the speed needed to achieve critical mass.In the end, HomeViva was the best hands-on business school one could get.
